it’s been a while. i have always loved writing but suffered a dry spell of energy to tabulate thoughts and the latest events. in short, things have been going well!
this weekend in celebration of working on a budget and cutting down on going out to eat costs, i purchased my very first crock pot and food processor. i’m very excited about making beef stew tonight, slow cooker style. if all goes well, i will post the recipe.
other news in brief:
- we saw the sharks opening game on saturday. it was disappointing but still a wonderful experience to watch a sport in person. plus, i’m familiarizing myself with the players and fantasy hockey isn’t looking so intimidating.
- i participated in my first habitat for humanity last friday. we were mudding the drywall on a townhouse in san francisco to be built for a low-income family. it was fun work and i met some very sweet kids from americorps.
- my clapotis featuring noro kureyon is on hiatus but will be in the rotation soon enough!!
- ni hao, i am currently taking a mandarin course so i hopefully won’t be entirely clueless while roaming around china later this year. i’m actually writing chinese characters, ha!
- sometime this week, i’m getting my haircut! so far my thoughts are something along the lines of this or this. coloring may also be an additional option.
